Algebra: Barbie Bungee's Big Jump!!! Gave students the height of the balcony and the students used their equation to calculate the number of rubber bands needed to give Barbie the biggest thrill without killing her! Each group got to drop Barbie to see if their calculations were successful! We had some fatalities, but we can definitely say that it was a lot of fun! Tomorrow we will look at a computer program that will show us what our line of best fit should have looked like and we can then compare our equation with theirs. We will also discuss why we feel that some of our bungee attempts weren't as successful as we anticipated.

Algebra: Using data, created a scatterplot of collected data from yesterday's trial. Created a line of best fit from the scatterplot to calculate an equation using slope-intercept form or point-slope form. Used this equation to calculate how many rubber bands would be needed to bungee Barbie successfully from the classroom ceiling by getting as close to the ground as possible without hitting it. Students were then able to take that data from that jump to reanalyze their line of best fit to calculate a better equation. They will use this equation from today to figure out the number of rubber bands needed for the big jump on Thursday.
