Math: Today we continued reteaching lessons and practicing in order to retake the quiz covering rational numbers with fractions and any other teacher directed- reteaching that students needed. Those students who were caught up, went to computer lab to practice operations with fractions and decimals on Mangahigh.

Math: Made an Integers Foldable to review basic operations of positive and negative numbers. Placed foldable into our Interactive Notebooks. Reviewed multiplication/division of integers using a Smartboard lesson and their foldable. Students finished class by taking a short Quick Check on their present level of understanding.

Monday: Practice of basic integer rules of multiplication/division with whole numbers Tuesday: Simplifying fractions and turning mixed numbers into improper fractions Wednesday: Applying integer rules for multiplication/division to fractions Thursday: Applying integer rules for multiplication/division to decimals Friday: Quiz on Rational Numbers using multiplication and division
Algebra: Students Number Systems and Properties Review Test. Any students who scored an A on the Review test has demonstrated mastery in the unit's concepts. These students will not be required to take the Test on Monday. They will have an opportunity to work on alternative/extension activities during that time. Students use the Review Test with answers, old quizzes, homework, and notes in notebook to prepare for the test.

Algebra: Corrected 2.1 Real Numbers Practice wksht. Corrected Ghost in the Graveyard Rational Numbers Review Stations. Handed back Properties Quiz for students to correct. They had time to start correcting in class. Reviewed the topics that will be on the Test on Monday. Gave students a handout on how to access the Algebra Textbook website. Encouraged students to go over quizzes and notes to prepare for the Review Test tomorrow. Offered two after school study sessions (tonight and Friday for any students interested in additional help or practice before the test!)

Math: Ch. 1 Review Test. (Students take the review as if it was the actual test!) Corrected together in class and answered questions. Students should use this review to study for the test.
*FYI: If a student got 2 wrong or less (an A) on the review, they do not need to take the test. They already demonstrated mastery of the material! The review test grade becomes the actual test grade. Those students will be working on alternative activities while the rest of the class takes the test tomorrow.
Homework: Study for Ch. 1 Test (tomorrow) - Students should use the Review Test from class today along with any notes (notebook), old quizzes, homework assignments to practice problems to prepare for the test.

Thursday: Ch. 1 Test (Translating Expressions, Evaluating Expressions, Properties) Friday: Review of basic integer rules with whole numbers
Algebra: Today's lesson focused on the Real Number System and classifying numbers. We started off class reviewing -a (opposite of), |a| (absolute value), and a^3 (a cubed). We put these terms into our notes along with the three practice problems. We then discussed the make-up of our number system and how numbers can be classified using a Smartboard lesson. Students completed notes with diagrams from the handout and in their notebooks. (The handout will be glued into their notebooks tomorrow.) Real Numbers Notes and Handout.
Homework: Complete Stations 1-3 on each of the operations on Stations wksht. (Will turn this in and go over tomorrow!), 2.1 Real Numbers Practice wksht
